Bijou Condo, as the name implies, is a compact, dainty and yet an ornamental piece of delicate workmanship which is elegant and highly prized. Bijou originates as a French word.
So why is Bijou so highly prized? For one, it is uncommon for a freehold development to be located at Tuesday doorstep of a MRT station in Singapore. Just take a look at the list of condos along and near the MRT stations on the East West MRT Line and you will immediately notice they are all 99years leasehold. Second, Bijou has a mixed development with a covered direct link to the Pasir Panjang MRT Station (Circle MRT Line) through the basement. What does this mean? It means residents can access to the MRT rain or shine, in cool aircon comfort throughout the very short walk. Now that's a luxury.
There will be altogether 15 retail and F&B outlets at Bijou. There will be 11 shop units on the first floor and 4 units at the basement. Basement 1 will consist of car park and shops while basement 2 will solely be car park. If i am an owner investor and wants to live in one part and rent out the other part, I will likely want to choose to live on the upper floor and leave the lower floor to my tenant. Reason being that the upper floor has the benefit of a pitched roof and comes with an extra space of a loft(not counted in the unit size in your title deed). Living at the top floor also allows you to walk out of your unit and straight to the pool.
