The Circle Line Review
The Circle Line is Singapore's 4th MRT(Mass Rapid Transit) line with all stations running underground with 28 stations. Circle Line intersects all the existing train lines but at the same time bypasses the busy City Hall and Raffles Place interchanges, making trips between the east, west and north much shorter.
Every station is a pleasantly designed and decorated with beautiful art pieces. The new generation of trains has a smart system where it automatically understand what to do in times of emergencies. The intelligent internal designs of the train encourages passengers to give way during peak hours.
It takes approximately an hour to travel from one end to the other. The colour for Circle Line is orange on the MRT rail map.
Circle Line covers many parts of central and downtown Singapore areas and is the first medium capacity line in Singapore. It means each train has only 3 cars instead of the 6 car configuration as it is now operating other MRT lines (excluding Downtown Line)
The Circle Line becomes 100% operational to commentate SMRT's 24th Anniversary for Rail Services.
The Circle Line was originally known as the Marina Line, and was initially mooted by then Minister for Communications and Information, Dr Yeo Ning Hong in the 1980s.
