Casuarina Primary school is the 8th and last primary school built in Pasir Ris estate. The school started functioning on 2 Jan 2001 under its pioneer Principal, Miss Debra Saw. It operated from Coral Primary School with 3 classes of 97 pupils, 7 teachers and 3 non-teaching staff.
The school moved to its current premises at Pasir Ris St 41 in 2002. In July 2004, the school celebrated its Official Opening with Rear Admiral Teo Chee Hean, then Minister for Defence and MP for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC as the Guest-of-Honour.
Mdm Norliza A. Rahim, the school’s second principal, joined the school in 2008. Under her leadership, the school celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2011. In 2013, MOE recognised the school’s niche in Aesthetics under the Programme for School-based Excellence (PSE). The PSE, HEARTS@CAPS, was subsequently transitioned into the Learning for Life Programme (LLP).
In 2015, the school welcomed Ms Karen Albuquerque as its third Principal. In that year, construction work started on the building of an Indoor Sports Hall (ISH) under the MOE’s PERI upgrading programme. Under PERI upgrading, the infrastructure of the school underwent changes to align it to the latest MOE standards.
In 2016, the school celebrates its 15th Anniversary with the theme “Casuarina Stories – Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, celebrating its progress and achievements in the past, strengthening its current programmes so as to welcome the exciting future that lies ahead.
