Principal's Message
Welcome to Henry Park Primary School (HPPS). Our motto is: “Honesty in Performance, Pride in Service”.
2016 promises to be another exciting year. The programmes that we offer will help the students to realise their full potential and motivate them to give of their best. More importantly the students will look forward to seeing their peers and teachers each day and find schooling an engaging and enjoyable experience.
HPPS offers a distinctive education (via the Learning Framework). Our teachers aspire to make every child an Engaged Learner, imbued with 21st Century Competencies. While we want to see the children performing well academically, we will look beyond a focus on only the academics. Through innovative teaching, teachers will cater to the different learners' needs.
With the Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) Framework in place, the school seeks to provide an education that will develop good character and citizenship awareness. In class, teachers will look out for opportunities to teach CCE. Every child will undergo a programme that will teach them RICE (Respect, Integrity, Care and Excellence) values explicitly. Our wish is for every Henry Park child to be an Upright and Responsible Leader, possessing the desired social and emotional competencies.
In HPPS, the teachers believe that every child is a child of talent, and every child is a healthy child. Talent is not restricted to academic performance. A child may have passion for Sports and/or the Arts. A child may exhibit leadership qualities. Guided by the Talent Development Framework, the teachers strive to develop every child into a Talented All-rounded Individual.
The teachers play a key role in the school. They are the ones whose impact on children is greatest. The work of the teachers is supported by a team of Executive and Administrative (EAS) staff. To do our work well, we will need to be a team of Skilful and Effective Staff, and every staff member (teachers and EAS) must be committed to serve his or her best.
An Effective Networked School, HPPS will forge close collaboration with key stakeholders. The school seeks to contribute actively to improve the community. We also see partners as a valuable resource that the school can tap upon to provide the children with the best.
Thank you.
